【簡析】：以詠西施為題，比喻一個人縱然有才也還需要機遇，也反映出世態的炎涼。結尾兩句，可以解作姿色是天生的，並沒有用，有什麽必要效顰？

再不能與她同車去來同車歸。
奉告那盲目效顰的鄰人東施，

【評析】：
這是一首借詠西施，以喻為人的詩。“朝為越溪女，暮作吳宮妃”寫出了人生浮
沈，全憑際遇的炎涼世態。
詩開首四句，寫西施有艷麗的姿色，終不能久微。次六句寫西施一旦得到君王寵
愛，就身價百倍。末了四句寫姿色太差者，想效顰西施是不自量力。語雖淺顯，寓意
深刻。
沈德潛在《唐詩別裁集》中說：“寫盡炎涼人眼界，不為題縛，乃臻斯詣。”此
言頗是。
